Bruce Springsteen Postpones Concerts Due to Peptic Ulcer Disease

Rock icon Bruce Springsteen has made a surprising announcement. He has decided to postpone all of his remaining shows for the year due to his battle with peptic ulcer disease. In a post on his social media account, he shared that he has been steadily recovering from the disease over the past few weeks and will continue treatment throughout the year as advised by his doctor.

Peptic ulcer disease affects approximately 10% of Americans, causing open sores or ulcers in the stomach or the first part of the small intestine, according to the Cleveland Clinic. This condition can develop as a result of a bacterial infection that erodes the protective lining of the digestive system. Additionally, prolonged use of NSAID painkillers, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, or prescription medications like Celebrex, can also lead to the development of peptic ulcers by wearing away the protective mucus layer in the intestines.

Symptoms of peptic ulcer disease can vary from burning pain in the stomach, bloating, heartburn, and nausea/vomiting. In more severe cases, individuals may experience black stool, weight loss, and intense pain.

Earlier, Springsteen had already canceled several shows scheduled for August and September, and now he intends to reschedule these concerts for the future. According to CNN, the new concert dates will be announced next week and will take place at the same venues initially planned.

Regarding ticket holders, Springsteen assured his fans that they will have the opportunity to attend his concerts. Those who have purchased their tickets through official ticketing companies but are unable to attend on the new dates will have 30 days to request a refund. All tickets for the postponed performances will remain valid for the newly announced dates.

In his announcement, Springsteen directly addressed his fans with heartfelt gratitude, saying, “Thanks to all my friends and fans for your good wishes, encouragement, and support. I’m on the mend and can’t wait to see you all next year.”
