But it’s not just patients and demographics to blame. The studies also revealed a whopping 99% under-diagnosis by primary care clinicians. That’s right, only a tiny fraction of doctors are equipped to spot MCI early on. It’s like finding a needle in a haystack!

Now, here’s the silver lining: early detection is key. If you catch MCI in its early stages, there’s a better chance of managing it effectively. The brain has limited regenerative abilities, so lost brain cells don’t grow back, and damage can’t be repaired. But with recent advancements in Alzheimer’s treatments, early intervention can make a measurable difference.
